Greensboro Downtown Park's annual Friendsgiving fundraiser has always been a cherished celebration, embodying the spirit of community found in Center City and LeBauer Parks. This year, we embarked on an exciting transformation, expanding our reach beyond just 250 guests under a tent for one night and instead aiming to gather as many friends as possible around our tables every night.
By forgoing the gala fundraising model, all our park friends were welcome to attend and all donations will have a much larger, tangible and immediate impact! You know those wobbly chairs and tables in Market Square? Your contributions helped make crucial furniture upgrades possible. Supporting Friendsgiving 2023 is an investment in the myriad of free park programs, tasty lunch breaks, joyful happy hours and productive business meetings that all take place right here around downtown Greensboro's symbolic kitchen table.

Our team has partnered with the designers of MM Interior Design Group to create conceptualized Market Square furniture renderings* to help us envision what the future of LeBauer park may look like. Browse the gallery and be sure to let us know which color story you prefer! Additionally, we are browsing options for square tables that will provide more flexibility when accommodating groups of any size and can be combined to form large communal tables.

This year, we hope to raise $10,000 to support our goals of updating the Market Square furniture with higher-quality, more sustainable options, continuing to offer 400+ free annual programs, and performing regular maintenance in our different park areas.
