If you have spotted a larger-than-life pair of painted jeans around Greensboro, you have seen a piece of Jeansboro.
Launched in 2015 by Wrangler and VF Jeanswear, Jeansboro celebrates Greensboro’s deep connection to denim and textile production, a legacy that spans more than 100 years.
What began as a design contest for Guilford County high school students debuted with six sculptures along Elm Street. Since then, the project has grown across downtown, with installations appearing in our parks, at PTI Airport, and at the Greensboro Science Center.
A Canvas for Local Artists
Each sculpture starts with the same iconic form, but the designs are entirely different. Local artists and students bring their own patterns, perspectives, and stories to the piece.
The result is a collection that feels connected while still reflecting the many voices that make up Greensboro.
Over the years, several of these sculptures have been featured in our parks. While individual designs may change, the idea remains the same. A familiar silhouette shaped by different artists over time.
What You Will See Today
The jeans you may remember in the parks are not always the same ones you will see today.
We are excited to feature a current iteration designed by Ashley Booth, a 2019 graduate of Northwest Guilford High School. She created the design as a student, continuing the project’s tradition of elevating young, local artists.
