Calling all preschoolers! Join our partner, GreenHill Center for NC Art for some storytime and art making fun every Masterpiece Friday.

Who's ready to become a movement master? This Masterpiece Friday, Miss Jaymie explores Movement through the work of Greenhill's "NC Women Abstract Painters" exhibition artist, Barbara Ellis. She then incorporates music into art and movement as she reads a story about famous pianist, Duke Ellington. Lastly, Miss Jaymie takes us through how to make our brushes dance on paper at home!
First, let's look at the artwork of Barbara Ellis.
Now that you've mastered movement, lets move on to music and dive into the story, Duke Ellington: The Piano Prince and His Orchestra, by Andrea Pinkney.
Inspired by the story, we're going to make our paint brushes dance! Here's what you'll need to get started:
Supplies:
Paintbrush
Pencil
Paint
Paper
Music
Ready to get making? Let's do some art at home!
