Calling all preschoolers! Join our partner, GreenHill Center for NC Art for some storytime and art making fun every Masterpiece Friday.
Who's ready to explore the use of color? This Masterpiece Friday, Miss Kate investigates how NC artist, Roy Nydorf uses symmetry in his artwork. Then for story time, we’ll follow the journey of a caterpillar who eats his way through everything in The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Finally, we’ll get crafty and create our own symmetrical paintings!
First, let's look at the artwork of Roy Nydorf.
Now let's dive into the story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
Inspired by the story, The Hungry Caterpillar, we’ll create our own symmetry with butterfly squash paintings! No butterflies will be harmed in the process.
