For over 25 years, health coach, Cheri Timmons has been helping clients find healing and healthy lifestyles. This week, Cheri is here to share her experience as a health coach, and how she has discovered that wellness truly comes from within.
Wellness Comes from Within
When it comes to designing a healthy life, it truly is an “inside” job.
For more than 25 years, I have worked in the field of behavioral health within a variety of workplace settings and positions, including:
outdoor wilderness schools
corporate wellness programs
Woven throughout my wide-range of professional appointments, is a common thread that ties all of my clients together.
It is the inner work they each did that moved them towards the wellness they wanted.
As much as I may have hoped for them to heal or successfully navigate challenges in their lives, they are the ones who did the work…from within.
No matter how open their access was to resources, support or healthy examples, they had to be the ones willing to move towards change.
Perhaps it is this dynamic that has drawn me to the work I have done for the past 25+ years – that each of us has the capacity to change, to heal, to move closer to what matters most.
Of course, designing a healthy life is not always easy work. There are times when it can feel impossible, lonely or just not worth it.
That is why engaging the right type of support will help you accomplish the inner work:
fine-tune your focus
design realistic action steps
and celebrate your successes along the way
Start where you are today.
Begin to visualize what your life can look, feel and even sound like when you are well and truly thriving.
Go inside. Tune into what matters most.
Start your inner work today…so that you can truly reap the rewards of a healthy tomorrow!
