Notes from The AiR: Site-Specific Dance

Updated: May 16, 2022

Notes from the Artist in Residence (AiR), Alexandra Joye Warren:

Watch below as Greensboro Downtown Parks Artist in Residence, Alexandra Joye Warren hosts a community dance workshop exploring site-specific movement, a process in which choreography is directly influenced by the space in which it is created. This process has informed Alex and JOYEMOVEMENT dance company's work in the parks as they developed A Wicked Silence, a site-specific choreoplay exploring the history and consequences of the Eugenics program in North Carolina.

This project was supported by ArtsGreensboro, a division of Guilford County, with funding from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
