We're all in need of a productivity pass right now

How's your new normal? Maybe you're trying to keep the same workflow going pre-Global Pandemic? But, Health Coach, Cheri Timmons is here to shed a little wisdom on being gentler with ourselves and others when it comes to expectations during this time. Read below for her advice on shifting the productivity mindset.

From Cheri:

With all of the recent changes in your life (stay-at-home orders, children home from school and working from home, to name a few) are you finding it hard to be as focused and productive as you were before? I know I am!

If you are like me, you are NOT getting as much accomplished as usual. And you know why??? Because NONE of this is business as usual. Not for any of you. How can you place the same expectations on yourself when life is anything but normal right now?

Well, you don’t have to. I am here to give you a Productivity Pass. Redeem it now and use it as often as you wish.

So, how does this pass work?

It is a mindset shift.

A remover of judgement.

A new way of talking to yourself about what you are and are not doing.

It is a shift away from the self-talk of “I should be able to get everything done that I used to before and in the same way” to “I will get done what I can in the time I have today and not beat myself up about what I did not get done”.

It is that simple.

Research by social psychologists shows that the language we use can powerfully affect our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. So, choose your words carefully. Those you say to yourself and to those around you. By making the shift to using words that support, recognize and extend grace, you will find you think, feel and act differently.
