Let Go, So You Can Hold on to What You Truly Want
What are you currently holding onto?
A scarcity mindset?
Feelings of inadequacy?
When your attention is focused on tightly held, limiting beliefs and negative emotions there is not enough room to also hold on to what you truly want.
So, you are going to have to put something down.
Your arms are filled with heavy grocery bags filled with fear, others’ expectations of you, worry, inadequacy and more. With your arms already filled, how will you be able to hold a bag that is filled with your dreams, images of goals being accomplished, healthy relationships, wellness, healing, growth and possibility?
You will need to put something down, so that you can pick up and hold onto what you truly want.
How? It is an inside job that starts with your thoughts.
Use this 4-part framework to begin training yourself to let go of what is not serving you, so that you can pick up and hold on to what you truly want.
Identify 1 thing you are holding onto (ex: self-doubt, fear)
Say, “Today, I let go of _________.” (fill this blank with that thing you are holding onto)
Identify 1 thing you want (ex: confidence, peace of mind)
Say, “And I pick up _________.” (fill this blank with what you want instead)
Example: “Today, I let go of self-doubt. And I pick up the belief that I can do it.”
Repeat these steps for any other limiting beliefs you keep playing in your mind.
This may feel awkward at first. But practice makes better. Keep doing this and it will become a new way of thinking and viewing yourself.
Change your thoughts and you will change your reality!
